qi guo received his bs degree from the sichuan university, chengdu, p. r.china, and his phd degree in electromagnetic theory from the university of electronic science and technology of china, chengdu, p. r. china, in 1982 and 1990, respectively. 

from 1990 to 1992 he worked as the postdoctoral follow at the university of science and technology of china, hefei, p. r. china. he was appointed an assistant professor of physics, and promoted to a full professor of physics, in 1992 and 1994 respectively, at south china normal university, guangzhou, p. r. china. from 2011 to 2021, he directed the guangdong provincial key laboratory of nanophotonic functional materials and devices.
